Habitual Traffic Offenders

In New South Wales, a habitual traffic offender if a person who has committed 3 or more major traffic offences within a five-year period. If this is the case, the RMS will impose a further disqualification period of five years in addition to the period of disqualification the court has already imposed. 



You can, however, apply to any local court to have this decision overturned or reduced to a minimum of 2 years. If you have had your license cancelled but can prove that your licence is essential to your employment, or the area you live in has limited public transport, or need your licence to care for a sick family member – then you may have sufficient reason to successfully appeal your case.
